Rhody rolls, part 1

Summer is here! Well almost, but in a few days the longest day of the year will officially be the start of a long-awaited summer here in New England. Today is National Lobster Day, so it’s fitting I post the first of many reviews on my favorite lobster rolls.

Betty turns 10

This past weekend marked a milestone for my little Betty that had me both excited and anxious. She has been with me for a decade and always right by my side, between my feet, on my lap, in my face. I even carry her around like a baby, and she molds right into me.

Pizza talk

Let’s talk pizza. As much as I like to cozy up into a booth or sit outside with Betty so she can enjoy going out, I also love making pies at home. Either way, she always scores the pizza bones. Scooch in with Betty and me as we talk pizza.

Island time

Every year during the week of my birthday, we head to a little island that’s 13 miles away, or a 35-minute fast ferry ride, from the mainland. Block Island is not only a treat, but a retreat…like going back in time. The layers of stress peel off with every swell underneath the ferry’s bow.
